Practice Run
We've talked to the girls about our trip back to Alaska for the summer and how it involved camping. On our drive to and from Alaska, we are going to tent camp to keep our budget low and as long as the weather is nice...so I figure we'll be in a hotel with a hot shower once we get to the Yukon Territory in May. Madeline has talked about sleeping in a tent ever since. So I came home the other day after being gone a little over an hour to Maddie and Abbie reading books in the living room and Jeremy looking for something in the office. "Where's the baby?" I asked. Maddie replied that he was sleeping in the tent. What?! She said that daddy set up the tent in the basement! I ran down there (I was a bit worried at this point that he was left in a tent in the dark basement) and found him snoozing in a comfy sleeping bag in the tent.

Looks like fun! When are you guys going to be up in Alaska? We are trying to plan a trip up there this summer too, but with Jonathan's training we don't know when we'll be able to go. It would be awesome to see you guys.
That sounds like a very good idea, the whole tent thing. I really hope the weather holds up for you guys in the tent. And you know, if you need ANYTHING, all you gotta do is ask and I'll try my damndest to make it happen. Can't wait to see you guys :) *HUGS*
The best vacations I had as a kid with my family was tent camping. Those are memories I will hold forever. I hope the girls get that same experience and that they have as much fun as I did. What a great idea to set up the tent in the basement to let them try it out. Jeremy is very creative! I think it's wonderful. :)
Haha, my WORST family moments were camping...something always went wrong (our tent getting flooded, preparing for 80 degree weather, and getting 30 degree weather). However, now it's fun to laugh at those memories. Time heals! I think that inside tent camping is much more fun!
What a cutie! Where are you guys going to be staying in Alaska? At your parents? We'll be making a trip up this summer... hopefully we'll be able to see you guys!
Okay... also too funny that you know Alan Dunaway! Jake and I graduated high school with him! Small, small world!
