Passports

We get to drive through Canada on our way home (can we call it home even though we don't have a home there anymore?) and if we want to get back into the United States, we will need passports as of June 1st. We're going with the cheaper option of passport cards (still over $200 for everyone). Anyhow, instead of paying the post office $15 per person for a photo, we did a shoot in our kitchen, found some free editing tool online and printed them out at Walmart. All for $.95! Here are the results, but first, I must tell you that the requirement of the photo is to NOT show any teeth or smile. Observe:

Jeremy dressed in his suit so he could look like an international businessman. I think it's a good mug shot for an international con man.

I did no dressing up whatsoever. This looks like a potential BEFORE photo on a makeover show. Annie, I need to give you a call about this hair...

Maddie couldn't help but smile just a little bit in front of the camera. At least she's not showing her teeth.

Abbie looks so sad, but cute. She was a bit upset that she had to stand there alone. And not smile.

Won't this be a cute passport card even just a year from now? I think the kids' cards are good for 5 years (or so) and it'll be funny to see Brayton identify himself with a baby picture.

Those are SO CUTE! I wish we had known we could print them for so cheap...we got ours from Walgreens, and their printer was down, and lets just say it was a hassle!

Yeah, we need to get on the bandwagon and get ours for the kids. Kelly and I have full passports but the kids...no. What a good idea to do the photos yourself plus you get to get good photos not like the concrete wall photos that look like a mug shot for me. I think the post office gives classes in how to take bad photos...again, great choice to do your own.
How in the world did you get Abby to keep her mouth closed? I don't know that I could get Vaughn to do that. Anyway, all the kids look adorable, Jeremy looks handsome, you are as pretty as ever. Such a beautiful family...so glad it's mine. :)

What a great time capsule! I have my first passport still...I was not a happy camper and looked much more pouty than Abigail. Maddie looks cute...like...but mom! I have to smile for the picture! And it will be funny in a couple years...seeing a young child saying...here's my passport...lol. I love your O'Neil Pictures with the kids! I might have to work something out like that after our 3rd comes along. Can't wait to see you. Btw, I haven't heard anything about that house yet...the girl was going to have her ex contact me via email. Hasn't happened. We'll see.

These are so cute! I wish I knew about that site before we applied for passports (we paid a fortune, comparitively). Your family has so much fun.

That reminds me we need to get our passports so we can go to Utah in June. When do you guys get here. It will be so fun to see you. I love the pass port pictures, and I meant to comment on your post with the map. Holy Cow you are taking the long way home, and I thought our drive was going to be a long one. We can't wait to see you.
