Last week on Tuesday we headed to KC and grabbed some BBQ at Gates (a bit spicy, but still pretty good) and then headed to a Royals game. The girls had a great time dancing to the intermittent music, watching the HUGE jumbo-tron (which, I'm told, is standard in size...but coming from Alaska we have never seen such a monstrosity) and really enjoyed their cotton candy (thank goodness for baby wipes!). It's always a treat to go to Kansas City!

This past Tuesday we took another nice drive to KC for some suits for Jeremy (K&Gs has GREAT deals), enjoyed dinner at Fazoli's (why isn't there one of these in AK?), and then headed back home after a loooong stop at Cabela's. We wanted to brag to my hunter/fisher dads that
we got to go to Cabela's. We finally felt a bit more at home in there with all the taxedermied animals, camo, and the display mountain (full of Alaskan fauna). It'll be nice to see real mountains again soon...

The girls (and Jeremy too, of course) wanted to get a closer look at the plane. And oh yeah, the large red bullets on the right are mailboxes. I know a few people that would LOVE one (not us).

Maddie liked pretending to shoot big game.

Then she got Abbie to join in. Mostly, they danced and marched to the music from the game.

Maddie in the mule deer exhibit. There had to be like 75 stuffed deer in there...and one robotic male camper that scared the girls as he talked about deer.

Whew! We'll see what next Tuesday will bring...

Rikk is jealous about Cabela's! You guys seem to be having so much fun with all the different places and things you are able to do there. Glad to here you miss Alaska though!
Well, I just saw that I've missed about 5 new posts from you, so I am going to comment here on all of them. Totally jealous on the zoo and the baseball game!! Looks like everyone had a blast at both places (specially with cotton candy and a shoe licking lion).
Loved the pics and the video of the plane ride. I'm sorry to hear that the girls didn't seem to like it, well that Maddie didn't like it and Abbie just followed along. They may grown out of it, or they may not like it again. I'm going for liking it again. I think you guys just gotta go buy a plane so Jeremy can fly with them all the time :)
Miss you guys and still can't wait to see you all this summer! *HUGS*
Love, Melissa
Looks like you had great fun! Isn't it wonderful to find free or inexpensive things to do with the kids?
Fun times!! I love your creative "O'Neil" writing at the top of your blog.
Can you believe Cabela's? My kids love it there and we're so not a hunting family!
Okay, so your hubby is a pilot? Is that how you know the Earle's?
Wow! Crazy how we recognize people on each other's blogs huh? Yes, her name was Lynn Munn and she did go to BYU Hawaii. Her blog is on my list of friends. "Hicken family"
