It's been awhile since we've been camping, so we decided to go head up north (about a 30 min. drive from Topeka) to Fish Lake. We went with our friends, the Budges. The Jacksons also had dinner with us and stayed until it got dark. The kiddos enjoyed playing with the balls and hula hoops and especially loved roasting marshmallows for s'mores.

Maddie played in the tent for a little bit. It was pretty windy up until bed time.

We took down the camp and headed home just hours before a tornado warning. We all had a great time and can't wait to go again!

Fish Lake?? Sounds....smelly! Just kidding! It looks like fun! I am working myself up to being a camper again. I had a lot of bad experiences...but I keep telling Todd I'm about ready to try again!
By the way, I miss you! I never see you anymore :( And I'm lazy now :(

sounds like a fun outing! We're plannin gour first camping trip of the year and are looking foreward to the outdoors.. but not the mosquitos..
What a great trial run for your trip North. Looks like you all had lots of fun. I love all the pictures...just a family camping and playing together outside...beautiful.
