Our week so far

Today, Jeremy's busy studying for the LAST final of his first year of law school. I can't believe it's already over...almost. Right now, we're just tying up all loose ends before heading out on Saturday. The kids have been real troopers as I've been stressing about renters insurance, canceling our phone & internet for the summer, finding a house-sitter/mail picker-upper, cleaning so we don't return to an infestation of critters, doing loads of laundry, plus making sure the regular daily routine is accomplished (kids fed, changed, fed some more, played with, bathed, etc.). And it's only Wednesday! We have had some time to play so here are just a couple highlights of our week so far:

I found a super easy and way yummy recipe for homemade Oreo cookies here. The girls and I made half a batch and shared some with our friends. The girls always enjoy a good baking project.
Brayton is 6 months old - can you believe it?! Where did the time go? He's a sweet little boy and he has been enjoying his tummy time lately. Mostly, he just rolls around and grabs the nearest rattle and chews on it.
Madeline wanted to get in the shot too. I love the two eye colors here - it's so neat to see the combinations our genes can put together to make these cute little kiddos.
Abbie fell asleep while reading her book. I let her nap for an hour before asking Maddie to go wake her up. It sure was taking awhile, so I went upstairs to see what was going on. Madeline had gotten into the bathroom and plucked the spray bottle (for fixing their hair) down from the top shelf and was squirting Abbie with it. "What are you doing?" I asked calmly. "Abbie wouldn't wake up!" Maddie replied as she handed over the water. And she was right - Abbie was still out cold even after a sprinkling!

Brayton got his 6 month shots today and is napping. Maddie is busy writing her alphabet and Abbie has put on her princess costume and is enjoying Cinderella. It's going to be a productive day.

OH man, I don't envy you all the work that comes before a big trip. I too can't believe it's been nearly a year since you left here...the time has flown, lonely as it sometimes was. Gosh we miss you. I am so glad your adventure north is about to start as you're nearly home! Call along the way if you need anything!
