Have you heard of "The Elf on the Shelf"? We received him in the mail today from Grandma Dee! This elf is a scout for Santa and is quite the observant little helper. At night he magically flies back to Santa and gives a report as to who was naughty or nice.
The girls gave him a name, Rudolph Jazzleberry, and we set him up high on our bookshelf today so he could have a good vantage point for observing little girls and a little boy (and sure, mom and dad too). He has been a little helper to mom, as I have noticed naughty behavior that was quickly remedied when I mentioned that I'd have to tell Rudolph Jazzleberry about it because he couldn't see us in the kitchen. "NO mom! Please don't tell him!" And then this certain little girl would run out to the living room and apologize to the elf (after apologizing to the offended party).
So tonight, as everyone dozes, the elf has already made his trip to Santa, gave a good report and is now back in our home, hanging on a picture frame. The girls will get to find him in the morning, and see that he made his magical trip while they slept.
Thank you Grandma Dee!
Oh yes, and the kids visited with Santa (he made a special trip to the office where we live) this weekend. Brayton would have no part of it, Maddie forgot what she wanted for Christmas, and Abbie was so shy that she whispered her answers to Santa to me. Classic.
